Emu in Black and White – 105mm VR lens

This image of an emu was converted to black and white from the original color image in Photoshop. The original image was taken with a Nikon D2H and a Nikon 105mm VR lens at 1/3,000 of a second, f/3.5.

The image was processed in Photoshop with levels to set the black and white points, curves to increase contrast and a slight amount of sharpening.

Some subjects are more suited to convert to black and white than others. What do you think of the emu?
